Description: Sho-Me proposes to deploy a fiber-based middle-mile network in a 30-county region of Missouri to expand broadband capabilities. Project construction will consist of 1,380 fiber miles of which about 500 miles is to be new build, characterization of 17 existing fiber segments, 15 new PoP shelters, 19 existing PoP locations, 82 DWDM degrees and 41 spans.
This request for bid (RFB) issued by Sho-Me to solicit bids for contractors who wish to provide labor & equipment to install the Sho-Me supplied innerduct, vaults, 72 fiber shielded underground cable, and aerial ADSS fiber optic cable to construct the proposed fiber optic back bone. The proposed route will connect to the existing backbone already in service by Sho-Me.
The Phase III Route F construction portion of the project involves deployment of approximately 25.8 miles of new fiber from Springfield to Noble Hill that will connect fiber Points of Presence (POP) locations and Community Anchor Institutions (CAI’s) along the fiber Route F (see Figure 2). This Phase III Route F construction contract RFB is for the route of underground fiber. The Contractor will submit a proposed bid and procedure of the installation of the innerduct, fiber, markers and vaults. This Phase III Route F Springfield to Noble Hill project will be only for the Backbone Fiber plant. The bid will be for the route, the bid units will be for changes from the proposed route. From the start date of July 30, 2012 there will be 6 months to finish the route.
